recruitment

This piece reflects on neocolonialism and racism in the context of global division of labour.

On a traditional coffee plantation, I looked for work as a day labourer. Exactly under the same conditions, I harvested coffee during a whole working day together with the local workers.

This labour-intense, poorly payed work is exclusively carried out by non-white individuals. This tradition was shaped and is maintained by men up to today
